Somethin's a roastin in the oven

Sorry if I have been absent and flighty about posting about our house in recent weeks, but we've had a lot going on.  Of course, the biggest project has been what's cookin' in my belly-a sibling for Ben, due to arrive early June! That's right folks, I am 15 weeks along!
Of course we're thrilled, and yes, it was planned, despite all this happening during the middle of a kitchen remodel.  Probably not the smartest (ok, well, really dumb) idea to be in your first trimester of pregnancy while remodeling your kitchen, but we felt we had no other choice.  The clock was ticking, we like spring babies, and wanted Ben and his sibling to not be much more than 3 years apart (they will be 3 years, 2 months).  Needed a new kitchen.  Stat.

Anyways, I am happy to report that I am mostly past the food aversion of morning sickness phase.  It was brutal for Ben & Steve to figure out what to eat with no kitchen and a mom/wife who usually couldn't stand looking at much more than crackers or pb&honey during dinner time for 2 months, but we survived.

Our kitchen is *almost* complete.  Putting in the range tonight.  Our granite saga continues, however, they came and re-templated this morning so hopefully it will be done by Christmas.  Almost all the upper in-cabinet lighting is complete (with the exception of ordering one cord in a longer length).  We hope to have the under cabinet lighting complete by this weekend-also need to order a couple different parts for that in order to finish it.  Other than that, still need to get the window stripped and re-installed but for some reason I am in no rush (hence we still have not finished the one in our bathroom after 2.5 years)-oops!  We also still need to fix all the plaster and trim in the dining room/new staircase.

But, I will have more pictures of the kitchen this week because we are totally in love-promise.  And, as anyone who owns one knows, having a dishwasher is life changing.
