Dear Bungalow Enthusiasts,
Looking for a little help with paint colors this morning. I just realized that it would be in our best interest to paint the stairwell that goes up to our attic this weekend. Why? Because right now we wouldn't have to tape anything off, and I mean anything. We have yet to install any trim and we have old stair treads that we are using temporarily.
Steve will be installing the stained skirt board sometime this weekend as the new stairs will go in next week.
So my paint question, I realized that other than the flat paint that we have in our hallway that I am not in love with, we have no off-white paint in our house. I am hoping to paint the stairwell some sort of off-white to help it stay as light-filled and open feeling as possible (it is narrow at 34").
So do you have any great off-white paint colors that you can share? I could always go a shade darker than our ceiling color but was hoping for your opinions. Any other great color (other than whitish) that we should use?
Thanks so much and happy hump day!
Sorry no paint here, but I do want to see pics when it's complete. There aren't enough good bungalow pics on the web!
ReplyDeleteof course!
DeleteAs always, I'm an fan of the Sherwin Williams Arts & Crafts Colors. They've got several white family colors: Hyacinth (SW0046), Roycroft Vellum (SW 2833) and Buckram Binding (SW0036). We ended up using a lot of Hyacinth throughout the ceilings in our house.
ReplyDeleteon my way there in a few! Thanks! I love their historic color palette as well
DeleteHow about that creamy trim color on the exterior of your house?
ReplyDeleteI think it's a little too green but I hadn't even thought of that as an option...thanks!!! I'll give it a try.
DeleteI love white dove from Benjamin Moore, but it might be too white for you. Can't wait to see finished pics:)!
ReplyDeleteKirsten, so funny you recommended that color-that is the color we are using for the cabinets (same as Miller's polar white, which we have throughout the rest of the house).
DeleteWe went in for some help at BM (armed with polished nickel hardware and marmoleum sample), and they recommended Grant Beige. I like the color (beige/grey/green) but it may be a bit darker than I hoped for. I think we are going to try it anyways since there is so little wall space to paint.
