Not much new to report around here, other than us wrapping our heads around having a very skinny bank account in the very near future. We met with 3 different cabinet contractors this week and hope to have the bids back by the end of next week.
I am busy scheduling bid appointments for plumbing, electrical, floors, etc. Fun stuff, I know. But we hope that acting as the general contractors will save us money in the long run.
Also alarming to realize just how much we still need to do to get ready for cabinets...all the sub work, pick out a new back door (we plan to get a salvage door)-our door is really sad and while I would love to keep, there is really nothing that can be done to fix the fine details that have worn away after having the paint stripped off poorly multiple times over the years.
Steve also needs to box in the built-in that we moved, do a little framing and rip out the flooring so that he can install new subfloor.
Lots of fun ahead. Hopefully we will have some pictures to share and a contractor chosen soon!
