Bon Voyage

Just a little send off to my dad who left yesterday to go for the ultimate summit-Mt. Everest.  Pretty Amazing!   So happy for him that he is aiming to summit and conquer a dream he has had since high school!  Love you dad, have a blast-you'll get to meet your little grandson when you get back!  ...he'll be back by June 7th, that's 72 days of travels

Epoxy and Tile

Well, I can't believe that the tile is finished!   woo-hoo!   Our tile guy finished late last week and we had a working shower, toilet and sink for Fri-Tues until we had the tub, soap dish and sink for the basement refinished yesterday!   It looks awesome, just back to several more days of no shower at our house until the epoxy dries.  The fumes cleared out enough that I was able to actually go in the bathroom today and start removing all the plastic and use the toilet and sink again.  I think that we will caulk the shower area tonight or tomorrow and then be able to use the shower again Saturday!
Steve has been working on stripping the wood work so that we can paint that.  We got a bid on a built-in but it was very over-priced in our opinion so are looking for people if anyone knows of someone.  I am hoping to buy sconces tomorrow-we settled on the Gilchrist from Rejuvenation but are still deciding on the overhead light.

Bathroom Lighting

One little project on the route to finish the bathroom is picking out lighting.  Based on where Steve placed the electrical boxes for the scones, the scones need to be either the turtle style or pointing upwards.  I really have no idea what to choose other than polished nickel so would love some opinions.  Here are a couple options and a couple shade options as well. Nothing too fancy but feel that it would last us the longest for a classic look...would purchase matching ceiling fixture.

(this would be facing up)

(would be mounted on wall as sconce and facing up)

Bano Update

Wow!  I can't believe it's already been almost a month since I have updated the blog-oops!   When you are out of town a couple weekends and deeply immersed in "remodel land," and oh yea, 8 months preggo, time just flies.  Finally, tile is on it's way in and we hope to have it done by mid-week with friends coming to visit over the weekend.  Next week I hope to get the tub, basement sink and soap dish resurfaced.   Then to pick out lights, do paint, electrical, fan and all the fun little accessories...don't forget a built-in.   All in less the 5 weeks before the babe arrives-hmmmm.....we'll see.
